Lie Change

Lie Change is the increase or decrease in Lie (the angle between the club shaft and the ground) between the start of a stroke and impact with the ball, measured in degrees. Assuming the sole of the putter is parallel with the ground at address, lifting your hands will increase lie, causing the heel to be higher than the toe and pointing the putter face to point right of the target. Lowering your hands will decrease lie, causing the toe to be higher than the heel and pointing the putter face to the left of the target.
